Traveling to Our Venue

For guests traveling from out of town, the easiest airport to fly into is Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), located approximately 30 minutes from our recommended hotels. From the airport, guests can take a rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft directly to the hotel, or use SEPTA public transportation via the Airport Line to get to the Wissahickon bus and train stations on Ridge Avenue. We recommend staying at one of our suggested hotels, as they are conveniently located near our wedding events and transportation options. For those looking for a more residential stay, a limited number of Airbnb and vacation rental properties are available in the surrounding area, though we recommend booking early. Our wedding venue, the Curtis Arboretum Hall, is located in Wyncote, Pennsylvania. The hotel block is located in Bala Cynwyd, approximately 30–45 minutes from the venue depending on traffic. We recommend allowing extra travel time, especially on the day of the wedding, during peak traffic times. For guests planning to drive, parking is available at both the hotel and the wedding venue.

Accommodations

We've reserved a room block at the Residence Inn by Marriott Philadelphia Bala Cynwyd for our wedding guests. The hotel is just a short walk from the Wissahickon SEPTA station, making it easy to travel to and from the airport or explore downtown Philadelphia during your stay. Rooms are available at a discounted rate of $319–$399 per night. To receive the special rate, please book using the link below no later than April 20, 2027. However, we do encourage you to reserve your room as early as possible.

The Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue is a convenient alternative for guests looking to stay near the wedding festivities. Guests should note that the area is best accessed by car or rideshare, as public transportation is less convenient than at our recommended hotel block.

The Bellevue is one of Philadelphia's most iconic hotels. Located in the heart of Center City, this landmark offers luxurious accommodations within walking distance of some of the city's best restaurants, shopping, and cultural attractions. While it is farther from the venue than our recommended hotel block, it is an excellent option for those seeking an elevated, city stay.

Lark is a beautiful dinner option and is conveniently located at our room block hotel. The restaurant features coastal Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and a rooftop terrace overlooking the Schuylkill River.

Located just off Rittenhouse Square, The Love is one of our favorite places in the city. The menu features seasonal American dishes, excellent cocktails, and plenty of comfort-food favorites.

Andrew's favorite cheesesteak in Philly, and it's a 20-minute drive from the hotel block. His order is a pizza steak with fried onions and sweet peppers. Bianca's is a cheesesteak with American cheese, fried onions, hot peppers, and mayo.

If you're looking to experience a bit of Philadelphia's history, we recommend spending an afternoon exploring <a href="https://www.visitphilly.com/areas/philadelphia-neighborhoods/old-city/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Old City</a>. Home to <a href="https://www.nps.gov/inde/planyourvisit/independencehall.htm" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Independence Hall</a>, the Liberty Bell, and some of the city's most iconic landmarks, the neighborhood is full of charming streets, local boutiques, and great restaurants. 15 minutes from the hotel block is <a href="https://www.philadelphiazoo.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Philadelphia Zoo</a>. It is America's first zoo and is where Andrew took Bianca for their 1 year anniversary date. The <a href="https://phsonline.org/locations/phs-pop-up-garden-at-manayunk" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">PHS Pop Up Garden at Manayunk</a> is an outdoor bar, restaurant, and local garden. It's a 15-minute walk from the hotel room block right down the neighborhood's main street. There is also a walking trail right outside the hotel along the Schuylkill River. If you're looking to stay out of city-center, <a href="https://www.visitphilly.com/areas/philadelphia-neighborhoods/chestnut-hill/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Chestnut Hill</a> is a charming neighborhood 20 minutes from the hotel block. Often referred to as Philly's "garden district," it features tree-lined streets, beautiful historic homes, and a main street of locally owned boutiques, cafés, and restaurants.

What is the dress code for the wedding?

The dress code for our wedding is formal. We ask that guests wear suit and tie, a floor-length gown, a formal cocktail dress, or a dressy pantsuit. As the ceremony will take place on the garden lawn, we recommend selecting footwear with the grass in mind.

Are there any colors I should avoid wearing?

Please refrain from wearing white or ivory, with the exception of dress shirts for gentlemen.

Can I take photos and videos during the ceremony?

No. We ask that all phones and cameras remain put away throughout the ceremony. Our photographers will be there to capture every moment, and we'll happily share those photos with you at a later date.

Are my children able to attend the wedding?

We adore your families, but we have chosen to make our wedding an adults-only celebration. We hope this advance notice gives parents plenty of time to arrange childcare and enjoy a well-deserved night out with us. Thank you for understanding.

Will I receive a plus one?

Only guests whose names appear on the invitation are invited to attend. If a plus one has been reserved for you, it will be indicated on your invitation and RSVP.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. Because we'll be celebrating on a Friday evening and traffic can get heavy, we encourage guests to arrive by 4:30 PM. This will give you plenty of time to park, grab a welcome drink, and stroll through the beautiful gardens before taking your seat for the ceremony. We'd much rather you have a few extra minutes to relax than risk arriving after the festivities begin.

How do I get to the venue and where do I park?

Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft are readily available throughout the area, and ample parking is available at Curtis Arboretum for guests who choose to drive. When arriving at the venue, enter via the Church Road entrance and follow signs for Curtis Hall Entrance, which will lead directly to the guest parking lot. If you're using Apple Maps or Google Maps, searching for "Curtis Hall" will bring you to the correct entrance rather than the larger arboretum grounds.
